Choco Chip Banana Loaf is quick, easy and the perfect way to use extra bananas lying at home. Enjoy this chocolate chip banana loaf for breakfast, as a snack, or for dessert.
While this banana loaf may look like a humble loaf speckled with choco chips, it is so much more than that. It is super moist and soft and actually very easy to make! No mixer is required and all you need is a few basic ingredients!
This recipe comes together easily. Be sure to use both granulated white sugar AND brown sugar. The brown sugar really enhances the flavor of the bread and also giving it a brownish colour. Also, ensure that the eggs are at room temperature.
This time I made the mistake of adding chunky choco chips because of which they sunk in. Make sure to add the smaller choco chips as this batter is a little runny and chunky choco chips get heavy for this batter.
Do give this a try and let me know how you liked it.

Ingredients
1 ½ cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking powders
½ tsp salt
½ tsp cinnamon powder
3-4 ripee bananas
½ cup white granulated sugar
½ cup brown granulated sugar
2 eggs (at room temperature)
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup oil
½ cup butter milk ( milk+1 tsp vinegar)
½ cup choco chips
Directions
- Pre heat the oven at 180˚C. Add vinegar into the milk, mix and keep aside.
- Sieve together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon powder and keep aside.
- In a bowl add the bananas and mash well till completely soft.
- Add white sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, oil, butter milk and mix well.
- Coat the choco chips with prepared flour mixture. This will keep the choco chips from sinking (make sure to add small choco chips. I made the mistake of adding chunky ones).
- Now add the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and combine well. Mix the choco chip into this mixture.
- Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan with parchment paper. Top with more choco chips. Bake at 180°C for 1 hour or until the toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool completely on a wire rack before cutting and serving.
Notes
- Make sure to add small choco chips just so it doesn’t sink in like it happened with me.
- Do not miss adding brown sugar as it really enhances the flavor of the bread loaf.
- I personally like making this recipe in loaf pan. however, you can make it in a regular cake tin as well.
